Data Quality Procedure

The quality of the information recorded and stored by North Yorkshire Police (NYP) is vital to organisational success.
Reliable, accurate and complete information is fundamental to achieving compliance to legislation such as the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Code of Practice for the Management of Police Information (MoPI), it supports effective decision making and planning, improves customer service, helps in achieving public confidence and assists in the investigation and detection of offences.

This procedure sets out responsibilities to assist NYP to achieve, maintain and improve the quality of data that is held across the organisation.
