Limited Duties Procedure
Operational resilience is the ability of a force to respond effectively and flexibly to the demands placed on it on a daily basis, whether the demand is local or national. In order for North Yorkshire Police (NYP) to meet those demands in a way that makes the best use of resources, the Chief Constable must be confident that officers have the appropriate level of capabilities that are required and that each officer is being deployed to the full extent of their capabilities.
NYP accepts that there will be officers who are temporarily or permanently unable to carry out full operational duties. In accordance with the Police (Amendment) Regulations 2015, namely Regulation 22 and 28A, and Determination Annex EE of the Determination under Regulation 22, these will be categorised and managed under the new term ‘Limited Duties’.
NYP will consider the support/ management and deployment of these officers in line with the needs of the service and it’s legal obligations under the Equality Act 2010.[application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document] Last modified: September 4, 2019
