Request:
Q1. Does your police force maintain a repository, database, or central storage system for Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA) students’ dissertations?
Q2. If such a repository exists, is the content accessible to all officers and staff within your force?
I would be grateful if you could provide any relevant policies, guidance documents, or descriptions relating to how PCDA dissertations are stored and accessed.
Response:
Extent and Result of Searches to Locate Information
To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within North Yorkshire Police.
I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by North Yorkshire Police.
Decision
I have today decided to disclose the following information to you.
Q1. Yes, a repository is in development
Q2. No not currently. Once it goes live the repository will be accessible to all officers and staff. The published repository will contain an anonymised summary of each dissertation. It won’t include downloadable copies of dissertations; those will be made available upon request.
Please note that systems used for recording information are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data. It should be noted therefore that this force’s response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other responses you may receive.
