FOI 1025-2024/25 UFO Sightings

Q1. I am requesting all information that North Yorkshire Police hold in relation to Unidentified Flying Object/Unidentified Aerial Phenomena sightings for the period 1st January 2024 to the 31st of December 2024. This includes all reports made by members of the public or employees of North Yorkshire  Police that include the following keywords: UFO, UAP, UAV, USO, lights in the sky, aliens, extra-terrestrial beings, drones, orbs. 

This information should include date, time, location, and the description given by the reporting person. No personal information of such witnesses should be included. Any reports that relate to vehicle registrations should be ignored.

Extent and Result of Searches to Locate Information
To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within North Yorkshire Police.

I have today decided to disclose the following information to you.

Q1. 0.

Please note that whilst our search has resulted in reports where the keyword ‘drone’ is mentioned within the MO remarks, these have been reviewed and excluded from the above results as they are not considered relevant to your request for sightings of Unidentified Flying Object/Unidentified Aerial Phenomena.

Please note that systems used for recording information are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data.  It should be noted therefore that this force’s response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other responses you may receive.
