FOI 0144-2025/26 Section 136 Detentions

Q1. Please could north Yorkshire police provide data on the amount of Section 136 detentions they have made in Tees esk and wear valleys NHS trust area in the last 5 years if possible - I am asking for this information as an NHS crisis team nurse from a different trust area in order to compare our own S136 detentions to a trust who has a triage team embedded with the police.

I can confirm that some of the information you have requested is held by North Yorkshire Police. 

Decision
I have today decided to disclose the following information to you.

Q1. Information pre-dating 1 May 2023 is not held. However, in the period 1 May 2023 to 30 April 2025 I can confirm that there have been 520 Section 136 detentions in the TEWV area. Further information may be held by TEWV Trust.
