Q3. How many banned breed types, have died whilst being held in police approved kennels, since December 31st 2023?
Q4. How many banned breed types, have been destroyed at the scene of an incident by your firearms officers since December 31st 2023?
Q5. The cost of policing dangerous dog incidents, has said to have risen since 31st December 2023. The interim exemption scheme is available to all forces, would this be something you would consider implementing to reduce those associated costs?

I have today decided to disclose the following information to you.
Q1. There have been 149 reported incidents related to banned breeds.
Q2. 39 dogs were seized as suspected banned breeds*
Q3. 1 – euthanised by a vet due to illness.
Q4. Zero
Q5. I note that this part of your request is not valid under the FOI act. In order for a request to be valid under Section 8(1)(c) of the Freedom of Information Act, the request must ‘clearly describe the information being sought’, and refer to ‘records capable of recovery in any form’. This can be ‘recorded information held in written records, typed, handwritten, emails etc’. The request you have submitted does not ask for specific information, instead, it asks for a statement.

*please note, not all were found to be banned breeds after assessment by a DLO.
