Please provide the number of gender-based hate crimes and non-crime hate incidents recorded by North Yorkshire Police each year since the recording of gender-based hate crimes was introduced, up to the most recent year available. Additionally, please provide the total number of hate crimes and non-crime hate incidents recorded for these years.
If possible, please include:

Q4. Misogyny was incorporated from 10 May 2017 and is defined as; “incidents against women and girls that are motivated by the attitude of men towards them and includes behaviour targeted at them by men simply because they are women or girls.”
There is no specific NICL qualifier for Misogyny. Misogyny hate crimes and incidents must be recorded on police systems using the ‘Prejudice – Gender’ qualifier and the ‘Gender’ hate crime indicator.
Please note that misogyny is not nationally recorded as a hate crime and is not one of the 5 monitored strands under the College of Police guidance. It is however a non-monitored one that is recorded locally by North Yorkshire Police in addition to the 5 national strands.
The College of Policing guidance (link below) states how their guidance to responding to reports of hate crimes and incidents applies to the 5 monitored strands and any non-monitored ones that forces choose to adopt, such as in NYP’s case – misogyny.
