Q1. Between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2024, how many recorded crimes of domestic abuse did your force record where a child was linked to the offence?  

By domestic abuse, I mean an incident between two individuals aged 18+ and domestic abuse can include emotional, sexual, physical and financial abuse. 

Q2. How many of the children linked to the offence were:

6-12 years
12 years and over

Q3. In how many of the domestic abuse incidents in Q1 did the offence involve “violence with injury”?

I have today decided to disclose the following information to you.

Q1. In the period 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2024 there were 9598 crimes recorded with a domestic marker, where there is a person under the age of 18 linked within the ‘involved persons/organisations’ field.

Q2. The above, broken down as to the age range of the child linked to the crime.

Please note that where there are multiple children linked each child has been counted, hence the figure is higher than that provided at Question 1.

Q3. The number of the above crimes categorised as ‘Violence with Injury’ is 2412.
