I would also like to request the total number of requests for the same time period.

To be clear that is total number of requests and total number of disclosures from nationwide roll-out on  4th April 2011 until the 4th April 2026. Please supply the figures for each calendar year.

If these dates are too wide then please focus on the first ten years

Decision

I have today decided to disclose the following information to you.

Q1. Please see the table below showing the number of applications and disclosures made under the Child Sex Offender Disclosure Scheme (CSODS) between 01 April 2011 and 31 March 2026, broken down by financial year.

*Please note that the number of applications provided covers those applications that were wrongly submitted as a CSODS, including applications that should have been a DVDs, and ones that would not qualify for CSODS as the situation regarding relationship etc does not meet the criteria. The number of legitimate CSODs applications where consideration has to be given as to whether a disclosure is appropriate or not can be much smaller than the number provided.

It should also be noted that the number indicating the amount of disclosures actioned also includes MAPPA disclosures which are implemented when the subject is already an RSO and can include situations where disclosure has been provided by a different force or via a different procedure such as DVDs, depending on how the information was recorded.

Please note that systems used for recording information are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data.  It should be noted therefore that this force’s response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other responses you may receive.
