Request:

Thank you for your response to my request (Ref 0637.2025-26) and for confirming that North Yorkshire Police holds notifiable-association data.

To bring the request within the cost limit, could you please provide:

Q1. The total number of Notifiable Association records currently held by the force (covering all categories and all staff/officers combined); and

If readily available, the annual totals of new associations submitted between 2020 and 2024.

I am not seeking any case-by-case detail or breakdown by offence – just simple numeric totals.

I have today decided to disclose the following information to you.

Q1. Please see the table below showing the number of associations recorded on the Notifiable Association Register between 01 January 2020 and 31 December 2024, broken down by calendar year.

*Not included in these statistics are the hundreds of referrals we get that are reported, reviewed and assessed as not meeting the criteria to go on the register (i.e. those where the risk is lower).

Please note that systems used for recording information are not generic, nor are the procedures used locally in capturing the data.  It should be noted therefore that this force’s response to your questions should not be used for comparison purposes with any other responses you may receive.
