 Q1. How many police officers are on stress, stress-related or mental health leave?

Q2. How many have been on leave for more than 7 days?

Q3. How many have been on leave for more than two weeks?

Q4. How many have been on leave for more than one month?

Q5. What is the longest a police officer (currently on the leave) - has been on this type of leave?

Extent and Result of Searches to Locate Information

To locate the information relevant to your request searches were conducted within North Yorkshire Police.

I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by North Yorkshire Police. 

Decision

I have today decided to disclose the following information to you.

Q1. As of the 29 August 2025, the number of police officers that are currently on sick for one of the following reasons: anxiety, bereavement anxiety, depression, other mental disorders, other stress, post-natal depression, stress, work related stress is 49.

Q2. Of the above, those that have been on leave for more than 7 days is 47.

Q3. Of the above, those that have been on leave for more than 14 days is 44.

Q4. Of the above, those that have been on leave for more than 30 days is 38.

Q5. 630 days.
