Police staff support frontline policing in a variety of operational and non-operational, uniformed and non-uniformed roles.
We have a wide range of police staff roles, including temporary, permanent, part-time and full-time positions. Police staff are based in various locations, across multiple different departments and specialisms such as Finance, Human Resources, Training, Business Analysis and Information and Communications Technology.
We source temporary staff members from an agency called Reed Recruitment.
Training will differ depending on the role, but the majority of positions will receive their initial training on-the-job from their line manager or an experienced colleague.
Some roles such as the force control room, will have a specialist training course prior to the start day.
Every position is subject to a probationary period which varies from six to twelve months.
Every member of Police Staff will receive access to our e-learning environment, which has a variety of courses available to provide a better understanding in different elements of North Yorkshire Police.
