Do you accept applications for generic Police Constables or Detective Constables?

Yes, the majority of our transferee campaigns are looking for generic Police Constables or Detective Constables to join our force in any department under that role.

Do you accept transferee applications for Authorised Firearms Officers?

Yes, but only on specific recruitment campaigns for Authorised Firearms Officers.

Do you accept transferees at the rank of Sergeant or higher?

Yes, but only on specific recruitment campaigns for the rank in question.

Do you accept transferees from Police Scotland or other non-home office forces?

This will depend on the specific vacancy, please contact the HR department to discuss. Any applicants from non-home office forces could require additional training due to differences in legislation.

Do you accept transferees from non-UK police forces?

No, any non-UK police officers would need to apply to join North Yorkshire Police as a new constable.

Do you pay relocation expenses, or provide accommodation whilst in training?

We do not provide relocation expenses, or provide accommodation whilst in training.

Can I choose my posting location, or department?

We take into consideration candidates preferences but cannot guarantee this will be available. You would be informed of your intended posting location and department prior to accepting our formal unconditional offer to transfer.
