Stokesley is an attractive, historic market town which has a population of around 5000. The town is served with shops, banks, public houses and restaurants and the weekly Friday market is held in the main town centre car park.
The neighbourhood area as a whole has an extremely low crime rate which makes it one of the safest communities in the county to live. This is largely down to the effective work done by the local police teams who work in partnership with the community and also other local agencies.
The local policing team is supported by and works with 24/7 patrol officers, enabling us to provide a responsive service to the public whilst maintaining high visibility in the community.
Northallerton is an extremely safe place to live. The communities really care and everyone seems to look after each other here.

Northallerton town centre is also home to North Yorkshire Police’s headquarters, Alverton Court, which has a meeting room that can be booked by community groups and a public coffee shop.
The Bedale Policing Team covers Bedale and its surrounding villages, including Leeming Bar with its thriving industrial estate, Leeming Village, RAF Leeming and a large section of the A1(M).
Bedale is a market town close to the A1(M) and main route along the A684 between Northallerton and the Dales. It is a vibrant and busy town with strong local identity. Often referred to as the “gateway to the Dales” it is served by a small dedicated policing team, based at a joint Police and Fire Service Station.
