Improving the Quality of life for residents and businesses
We work alongside partners to identify the issues which have the most negative impact on quality of life in the Scarborough area.
Action
These issues are discussed at a weekly tasking meeting with partners and action plans are drawn up with lead agencies identified to address them. The overarching operation is called Operation Ambience and is managed by The Community Impact Team based at the Town Hall.

Reduce levels of vulnerability
“A person is vulnerable if as a result of their situation or circumstances, they are unable to take care or protect themselves, or others, from harm or exploitation”
Action
On a daily basis The Community Impact Team assess levels of vulnerability and work with partners to ensure that relevant interventions are put in place to minimise this vulnerability, whether this be through domestic abuse, homelessness, elderly who are at risk, safeguarding children or vulnerable adults, Child Sexual Exploitation or any other reason. The team are also working around issues caused by NPS (New Psychoactive Substances) and are working in local educational establishments and community groups to highlight the issues raised and reduce the risk they pose.
