Special initiatives

Operation Bright is a winter campaign run from October to February to identify homes at increased risk of burglary. We then undertake work with residents to ‘target harden’ their properties.

Operation Crescent is a year round initiative in which we work closely with residents and Partner Agencies to tackle crime, anti-social bevhaviour and anti-social vehicle use on a local housing estate.

Operation Hackle works in partnership with local schools to tackle youth nuisance relating to tresspass on educational premises especially during the school holidays. This is to try and combat damage and alcohol use on school premises whilst the premises are closed but also to address any youths unlawfully on school premises causing disruption.

We work with Hambleton North Neighbourhood Watch to help set up Neighbourhood Watch Schemes in the Stokesley & Great Ayton areas.

We work hand in hand with local pubs in their PubWatch scheme  to reduce night time economy issues. In 2015 – 2016 there have been over a dozen people banned from all pubs in our area.

Our ShopWatch scheme works in conjunction with the North Eastern Retail Crime Partnership to reduce retail crime. All major retailers in the area particpiate in the scheme and through the sharing of information on persistent shoplifters we ensure crime is reduced and the main offenders are identified and dealt with.

We have had significant success with our RuralWatch scheme and have a 30 strong group of dedicated local volunteers whom patrol the area with us several times a month both night and day. These volunteers are our extra eyes and ears and bring a wealth of local knowledge on the area and its people.
