River incident in Knaresborough

Police, fire and ambulance attended the scene and sadly the body of a man was recovered from the water a short time later. Investigations are ongoing, but it is not believed there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. We are not in a position to identify the man at this time.

The fire was discovered at about 6.30 am. One person was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been released.
