Poilce have released new images of valuable jewellery that was taken when thieves cut a hole in a Harrogate antiques shop roof and stole more than £100,000 of stock.
More than 200 objects were taken, including a number of highly-distinctive bespoke pieces on Tuesday, 13 February at 27 West Park, opposite the Stray.
Police believe the thieves cut a hole in the roof of the building and climbed through it between 8.50pm and 9.50pm. They broke into a number of cabinets, probably using a jemmy, and emptied them.
Officers appealed for information from the public last week and have continued to itemise the stolen stock as part of their investigation, which has also included forensic tests and extensive enquiries in the area.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said today: “A large amount of items likely to be worth well over £100,000 are now known to have been stolen during the break-in.
“Today we’ve released more images of some of the more distinctive items in the hope that members of the public, people who work with antiques and precious metal dealers may recognise them.”
Officers have released CCTV images of a person they want to trace as part of their investigation. While the person’s face was covered, officers say the streets around the shop were relatively busy and someone may recognise the person in the picture from their clothing and Nike rucksack.
Anyone who has any information about the incident or the person pictured on CCTV, or witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the area at the time should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Amanda Hanusch-Moore.
