Appeal after man robbed in York

York police are appealing for witnesses and information after a man was robbed in the early hours of Sunday 29 March 2015.

It happened at around 4am as the victim, a 40-year-old man from York, walked along Lawrence Street in York near to the Jet garage.

He  was approached by a teenage girl who engaged him in conversation before assaulting him. A group of other people, believed to be men, then attacked the victim from behind, kicking and punching him, before stealing his phone, wallet and other personal items.

The victim sustained cuts and bruises during the incident and was very shaken up what happened.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the area to contact them.
