Appeal: attempted burglary in New Easrwick, York

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an attempted burglary that occurred in New Easrwick, York.

It happened on Birch Close during the early hours of Thursday 13 August 2020 and involved a rear living room window being opened. Officers believe the alleged suspect/s may have been disturbed and left the scene empty-handed.

In particular, we are appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity or people in the area  and to anyone who might have CCTV in the area,  to contact the police.

All residents are reminded, particularly in warmer weather, to ensure all windows and doors are locked and secure when you are not in/overnight and any valuable items are stored away, out of view.
