Appeal following assault on Coney Street, York

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an assault that occurred On Coney Street, York on Thursday 24 October 2019

It happened on the junction of Market Street/Coney Street, York at approximately 4.15pm and involved a 15 year old male who reported that he was approached by an older male who grabbed hold of him when he refused to give the male his phone.

We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing for information from anyone who saw the incident or can provide any details of the suspect involved.

The suspect was reported as being a white man, wearing a beanie style hat with a ginger coloured beard. He was said to have been wearing a black leather style jacket that went down to the waist and black coloured trousers.
