Appeal following assault on taxi driver in York city centre

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an assault on a taxi driver which took place on Piccadilly in York at 6.50am on 16 October 2018.

Two women got into the victim’s dark coloured saloon taxi by the bus stop opposite Primark before one of the women became verbally abusive to the driver and struck him round the head.

Both women then left the vehicle and walked off in the direction of Parliament Street.

The suspect is described as white, medium build, aged around 20 years, with loose gold hair. She was wearing a distinctive red mini skirt and a black top.
