Appeal following attempted armed robbery at Craven convenience store

Police are appealing for information after a man with a knife attempted to rob a convenience store near Skipton.

The hooded man entered the Spar shop in Cross Hills carrying a kitchen knife and a plastic bag.

He told a member of staff to fill the bag with money, but he ended up leaving empty-handed. Fortunately, nobody was injured.

The incident was reported at around 7.55pm last night (Wednesday, 16 March 2016).
