Appeal following a bag snatch from elderly woman in Ripon

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information regarding a bag snatch from an elderly woman that occurred on Locker Lane, Ripon close to the junction of the Harrogate Road.

The incident took place on Monday 12 February 2018, at around 7pm on Locker Lane, Ripon, close to the junction of the Harrogate Road.

The elderly woman was walking along Locker lane when she was approach from behind by a person who snatched her navy blue handbag and ran off towards the Harrogate Road.

The bag was later recovered in the garden of a nearby property, however an amount of cash had been stolen.

We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
