Appeal following damage caused to shop by a firework

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about damage to a property in Filey caused by a firework.

It happened on Murray Street at around 2pm on 09/02/16 and involved a homemade firework landing on the plastic roof of Smarts Stores. This object has then burnt through the roof causing damage to one of the roof panels.

We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing for information about any person seen to be setting off fireworks in public on the 9th of February at about 2pm in the vicinity of Filey Town Centre.
