Appeal following Scarborough arson attack

Scarborough police are appealing for witnesses and information about an arson attack that occurred in Scarborough.

It happened on Barrowcliff Road between 16:00 hours and 00:00 hours on Friday 12th August and involved a fire in which several thousand pounds worth of damage was caused at the Maple Court Care Home building site.

We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing for information about any persons that may have accessed the building site after the work crews left, or anybody seen acting suspiciously in the area.
