Appeal following a recent assault in Selby

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an assault that occurred in Selby.

It happened near The Griffin public house on Micklegate, Selby between approximately 3am to 3.30am  on Sunday 18 February 2018 and involved a 20 year old man being assaulted by a number of unknown men.

The victim sustained facial injuries caused by being punched and kicked. He was taken by ambulance to York District Hospital where he was discharged following treatment.

We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing for information about a man described as white, approximately 20-25 years old, approximately 5’9 and of stocky build with a beard. The male was wearing a hat and a cream jacket.
