Appeal for information following recent attempt handbag theft on Otley Road, Harrogate

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a attempt theft that occurred on Otley Road Harrogate.

It happened at a bus stop on Otley Road opposite the junction with Beckwith Road at approximately 10.25am on Wednesday 13 March 2019 and involved a man attempting to take a woman’s handbag.

The man was unsuccessful and the woman was able to keep hold of the bag. He then continued along Otley Road toward Harrogate.

Officers are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing for information about the man who is described as Asian in appearance, aged between his late 30’s to early 40’s and was wearing a woolly hat and bright yellow puffer jacket. The man was also described to be wearing black trousers and black shoes.
