Appeal following recent vandalism and burglary of a church in Scarborough

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about the burglary of a church in Eastfield, Scarborough

Police received a report stating that at some point between 6pm on Monday 12 August and 8.30am Tuesday 13 August 2019, the Church of the Holy Nativity on Westway in Scarborough had been broken into.

Thieves had gained entry into the church and stolen food items from within the building and caused damage to the property – namely spray painting the church steps.

We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing for anyone who witnesses anything suspicious in the area at the time to contact police.
