Appeal following a serious assault in Scarborough

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a serious assault that occurred in Scarborough.

It happened on Ramshill Road between 2.45am and 3:30am on Sunday 5 November 2017 when a man was attacked from behind causing him to fall into the road. The offender left the scene prior to police arrival.

As a result, the victim sustained a fractured elbow and was treated at hospital.

Unfortunately the victim did not get a detailed description of the offender due to the nature in which he was attacked, however has stated that a white male in dark clothing was seen to be in the area at this time.

We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing for information from any person who was in the area at the time and saw the assault or saw any person running from the scene.
