Appeal after woman, 74, injured in Scarborough collision

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a serious injury road traffic Collison that occurred on Northway at Scarborough.

It happened at 1625hrs on Wednesday 17th August 2016 and involved a Vauxhall Astra in Silver being driven by a 38 year old male and a 74 year old female pedestrian both from Scarborough.

The 74 year old female has received bruising to her face and has sustained a small bleed on her brain. She was transported through to Scarborough General Hospital by ambulance where she remains in a stable condition.

The 38 year old male was interviewed by police at the roadside.

The stretch of road was partially closed for around an hour while officers investigated the scene and to allow the vehicle to be recovered.

We are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who recalls seeing the vehicle or female pedestrian prior to the collision, to get in touch as soon as possible to assist the investigation.

In particular, we are appealing for anyone with any dash camera footage to come forward.
