Appeal for information after man steals money from young girl

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information regarding a theft occurred in Starbeck, Harrogate.

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information regarding a theft occurred in Starbeck, Harrogate.

The theft occurred at the junction of Forest Avenue and Knaresborough Road at approximately 11.30am on Sunday, 24 June.

It is believed a man approached an 11-year-old girl as she left the Co-operative store with her friend. Whilst she was carrying the change the man has then taken a £10 note from her hand. He has then made his way towards the Starbeck Railway Station.

The suspect is described as a white man, aged 50 to 60 years old of fat build. He was wearing a hat, jeans and a blue/green jacket at the time of the offence.
