Two members of the public witness hen harrier being shot near Grassington

North Yorkshire Police investigating the shooting of a hen harrier on Threshfield Moor.

The incident occurred on Threshfield Moor near Grassington at approximately 10.45am on Monday 27 January 2020 where two members of the public witnessed an incident in which they believe a male hen harrier was shot.

North Yorkshire Police officers have been conducting enquiries and a man was arrested in connection with this incident, then later released under investigation

This is the second incident of this type to take place in the last six months, with another hen harrier believed to have been shot in October 2019 near Keasden.
