Information and important witness sought after 12-year-old girl assaulted

Harrogate police are appealing for information and a potential eyewitnesses to come forward after a12-year girl was assaulted in Harrogate.

It happened at approximately 9pm on the evening of Sunday 7 August 2016 on ‘Oaker Bank’ near to The Old Spring Well pub in Harrogate when the 12-year-old victim was assaulted at the roadside by a group of similar aged girls. The victim suffered bruising as a result of the attack.

It is believed that a woman with dark brown, bobbed hair and glasses who was driving a red car, stopped at the scene in the aftermath of the attack and enquired after the victim’s wellbeing, and that she may therefore have witnessed the incident taking place.
