Appeal for information following attempted robbery

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an attempted robbery that occurred in York.

It happened at around 8pm on 17 April 2019 when the victim was walking from Bede Avenue onto Crichton Avenue and noticed a male on a red bike  coming towards her on the footpath.

As the male got closer to her he took hold of her handbag, which was being carried across her body, and demanded that she gave him it causing an injury to her neck.

The suspect is described as a white male, around 21/22 years old, scruffy looking, with mousey brown hair and approximately 5ft 7 inches tall of medium build. He was wearing a dark grey tracksuit and was riding a red mountain bike.
