Appeal for information following suspicious incident in York

Officers are appealing for witnesses following a suspicious incident in York.

Officers are appealing for witnesses following a suspicious incident in York.

The incident occurred on Rydal Avenue at around 6.50pm on Thursday, 24 January when a man approached another man in a threatening manner.

The offender is described as a white male, approximately 6ft tall, of slim and athletic build and aged in his late 20s to early 30s. He was wearing a black woolen hat and a black coat. At the time of the incident he was also carrying an axe which was around 3 to 4ft long with a yellow handle.

Following the incident the man walked off in the direction of Bellerby Court.

Officers are appealing to anyone who either witnessed the incident, the events surrounding it or who believes they know the identity of the man involved, to contact them with information.
