Appeal for witnesses after cyclist seriously injured on the A1036/A64 junction in York

Police are appealing for information after a male cyclist sustained serious injuries following a collision with a car.

The collision took place at approx. 8pm on Wednesday 3 October 2018 on the A1036/A64 junction in York.

The 36-year-old cyclist was travelling on the A1036 interchange at Askham Bar when the collision occurred with a red Ford Transit van at the junction with the A64.

The cyclist was taken to LGI by ambulance with what were described as potentially life threatening injuries. He currently remains in a critical condition.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or the events surrounding it, or has any dash cam footage it, is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police quoting reference NYP-03102018-0442.
