Appeal for witnesses after fatal collision near York

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision at Strensall, near York.

A 27-year-old local man was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision, after his dark blue BMW came off Towthorpe Moor Lane and landed on its roof in a ditch at around 9.20pm on Sunday 29 March 2015.

He was travelling towards Strensall from the A64 when the collision occurred. No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The man’s family has been informed, however we are not in a position to release his identity at this time.

The road was closed in both directions while an examination of the scene was conducted. It was reopened at around 2.20am on Monday 30 March 2015.

Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them with information.
