Appeal for witnesses following assault in Scarborough

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an assault that occurred in Scarborough.

It happened just after midnight on Saturday 12 September when a male and female were walking along Castle Road. As they approached the junction with Sussex Street, another male approached them from behind and engaged them in a argument during which it has been alleged he assaulted them both.

We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, it is believed that two members of the public may have witnessed this incident.
