Appeal for witnesses to fatal road collision on B6451 near Farnley

Police are appealing for witnesses to a fatal road traffic collision to contact them.

Police were alerted to a collision on the B6451 north of Farnley at approximately 3pm on Saturday 21 September 2019.

A blue and white Suzuki GSXR 750 motorcycle, which was being ridden in of a group of 10 motorcyclists, had cause to leave the carriageway on a bend in the road, just passed the junction with Top Lane. Very sadly the rider, a 31 year old man from Huddersfield, died at the scene.

Officers from the Major Collision Investigation Team are carrying out enquiries to determine the circumstances around the collision and are appealing for witnesses to the incident to get in touch.

They would particularly like to speak to anyone who may have capture dash cam footage of the motorbike prior to the collision, or the collision itself, to contact them.
