Appeal for information following New Year’s Day attack in York

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an incident that took place in York on New Year’s Day.

It happened in the Union Terrace area in York at about 5pm on Sunday 1 January 2017 and involved a 50-year-old man who was found suffering injuries to his face and head.

Police are monitoring the condition of the man who currently remains in a stable but critical condition in hospital.

If anyone was in in the Union Terrace area around that time, or has any information which could assist the investigation, they are urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask to speak to the York & Selby Serious Crime Team.
