Wanted man Robert Matthews was arrested in Sherburn in Elmet this afternoon and remains in custody at this time. Thank you to all who helped circulate the appeal to locate him.

Police in Selby are appealing for information to locate a wanted man.

Robert Matthews, 33, is wanted in connection with an incident that happened in Selby on 7 April 2019.

It is believed that Matthews, who has links to the Selby and Sherburn-in-Elmet areas, knows he is wanted by the police and is actively avoiding officers.

PC Daniel Kirven, of Selby Police, said: “Matthews, if you are reading this, your best option is to come to Selby Police Station as previously arranged, rather than avoid us. We will find you eventually, so please do not put this off any longer.”
