Appeal for witness to an assault at Merchant Gate

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an assault that occurred in the car park of Merchants House, Merchant Gate, York on 30 December 2015.

It happened between 1.30pm and 3.30pm and involved two men, one of whom was assaulted by the other after a dispute over parking. The injured male was taken to hospital by ambulance with a head injury.

The Serious Crime Team are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to help determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing for information about a man who was seen to get into white van and drive out of the car park at this time. The van has been described as a long wheel based dirty white van that was parked across two car parking bays.
