Appeal for witnesses of collision between cyclist and car on Stockton Lane, York

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a road traffic collision on Stockton Lane in York.

The collision occured at 8.30am on Monday 26 October 2015 and involved a small silver hatchback car and a pedal cycle.

A 22 year-old man riding a pedal cycle was travelling along Stockton Lane towards Warthill, over the bridge which crosses the A64 when he was struck from behind by a small silver hatchback.

The driver of the hatchback, a woman described as being in her late 60s, failed to stop.

The bike rider received a large cut to his head and was taken to York District Hospital where he recieved a number of stitches.

We are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who recalls seeing a small silver hatchback vehicle prior to the collision, to get in touch as soon as possible to assist the investigation.
