Appeal for witnesses following aggravated burglary in Great Ayton

Officers are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary in Great Ayton.

It happened in Cleveland Street at around 6.45pm on Tuesday 20 February 2018 when two offenders entered a property, threatened the occupant and left with an amount of cash.

A 16 year old boy was arrested shortly after the incident and he has subsequently been charged with aggravated burglary.

Officers are now trying to chase the second offender, also believed to be a teenage boy. He is described as 5 ft 7” tall, of stocky build, wearing a woolly hat and scarf or balaclava, a shiny black coat and dark trousers.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or anything suspicious in the area at the time, is asked to contact police. Dial 101, press 2 and ask to speak to Northallerton Serious Crime Team.
