Appeal for witnesses following assault in York

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about an assault that occurred in Huntington, York.

It happened near the bank of the River Foss, off Church Lane, between 6.30pm and 7pm on 10 August 2017 and involved a male youth who punched the older male victim in the mouth.

As a result of the assault, the victim lost three of his front teeth. The victim attended York District Hospital where he was treated and discharged.

We are conducting enquiries and are requesting the public’s assistance to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing for information about the suspect, who is described as a white male, aged around 17-18 years old, about 5 ft 10 inches tall, with short blond hair. At the time he was wearing a cream coloured top and was carrying a rucksack.
