Appeal for witnesses following fire in Richmond

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information about a fire that occurred in a dwelling at Friars Wynd, Richmond on Monday 27 June.

The fire was discovered at about 6.30 am. One person was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been released.

A 34-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and has now been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

We are requesting the public’s assistance to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police would like to hear from anyone in the vicinity that witnessed any suspicious activity during the early hours of Monday morning until the attendance of the fire service and during the time the fire service and police were in attendance.
