Appeal for witnesses following a serious collision on A66 near Smallways, Richmond

Police are appealing for any witnesses to a serious collision which occurred on the A66 on Sunday 25 September 2016 to contact them.

At around 11.30pm on the Sunday night a collision occurred between a white Audi A3 and a silver Ford Focus at the crossroads of the A66 and Lanehead Lane, near Smallways. The collision left both drivers with serious injuries.

The driver of the Audi, a 19-year-old woman from Durham was taken to James Cook Hospital with serious abdominal injuries and the driver of the Fiesta, a 28-year-old man from Cumbria received a broken wrist and pelvic injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the vehicles prior to the collision, or has any information which would assist the investgation is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask to speak to TC Martin Usher. You can email martin.usher@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk
