Appeal following an assault in York

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for information after a man was grabbed by the throat in York.

It happed on Gillygate at 1pm on Wednesday 27 November.

We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing for information about the man who carried out the assault, who is described as a man aged around 65 years old, between 5ft 9ins and 5ft 10ins tall and of thin build. He was wearing a blue a jacket and was carrying an umbrella.
