Beloved family cat shot dead in Kirkbymoorside and another injured

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses and information after two cats were shot with what is believed to be a pellet gun in Kirkbymoorside.

It happened on West End at approximately 5pm on Sunday 3 November 2019.

Sadly, one of the cats (pictured) died as a result of the incident. A second cat, belonging to the same family, was also injured and taken to a vets for treatment and survived.

We are requesting the public’s assistance to help establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

In particular, we are appealing to anyone with any information about those responsible to get in touch.
